Germany’s largest initiative for practical nutrition education, the joint initiative of the Sarah Wiener Foundation and BARMER, aims to get children interested in balanced nutrition as early as possible.
Our educator, who is also a trained cook, has participated in an Ich kann kochen! training course.
We want to get our children excited about cooking and a balanced diet. Cooking together imparts nutritional knowledge and effectively promotes the children’s health. Through their own cooking experience and cooking together with the educators, the children gain lasting knowledge about nutrition and effectively promote their health.
Cooking is fun and meaningful! Fun, enjoyment and the focus on concrete implementation with the children are at the center of attention. Working with a knife and cutting board makes preparing food an experience. Eating together is the reward for the work that goes into preparing food, because the children should also experience this. But also the knowledge about healthy vegetables and fruit and what can be prepared from fresh food is taught here along the way.
In addition to the origin of the food, table culture and body awareness are also part of the content of the joint cooking. For further information, please visit the website
